Isthmic Spondylolisthesis (IS) Isthmic Spondylolisthesis (IS) is commonly known as the spinal condition with little fractures in the low back and a slip of one vertebra on another. True but not all true- IS has many more features and in particular Lumbo-Sacral Kyphosis has become even more dominant as the primary characteristic for this condition. Unlike Non-Specific Low Back Pain (NSLBP), IS is a sequential condition ranging from a zero grade to grade 5 and IS has many measurable characteristics. There is much to learn from IS about how our human spine works. A study and review of IS offers many new interpretations to consider in the examination of NSLBP. Below is the first in a series of newsletters/videos on Isthmic Spondylolisthesis: Spondylolisthesis I: Newsletter.
