In February 2007 Amelia and Robert travelled to Paris for a 10 day tour of this great city. In the Jardin de Musee de Rodin Robert popped the question, but......the box was empty. Yes, the box containing the ring had no ring inside. Think of his feelings at that time. Having packed the ring without Amelia's knowledge and kept the secret for some weeks and he also had planned to propose inside the Musee de Louvre next to the Venus de Milo on their first day but found the area to be full of tourists and an ugly moment. So, the next day in a quiet part of the Gardens of the Rodin museum he propose and pulled out the box only to find it empty. Shock and horror. Had it been stolen from the hotel with just one night in Paris? Had it not been packed?

They raced back to the hotel without much being said. No ring in the hotel. Two emails to Boston for his roommate Greg to search his room was not replied too. The ring was gone and they had to get on and enjoy the week in Paris.

The week went well. After a 2 minute delay at the time of the proposal due to shock and surprise Amelia did accept Robert's proposal of marriage. After the first visit to the Musée de Louvre and then the Rodin Museum they enjoyed Versailles, Musée de l'Orangerie, le Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde, Musée Picasso, Dali, and another visit to the Louvre.

Once back in Boston, the tension remains for Robert who has to report a stolen ring to the police, make an insurance claim and seek, select, and purchase another ring and get down on one knee to propose again to Amelia. At the ploice station aftre hearing the story the police say it is my roommate, the one who is out of work. Shock and horror again. This is the guy that Robert likes and has grown to trust.

Not sure who is the culprit of his three roommates Robert does nothing. Unfortunately, Robert discovers things missing. One hundred dollars left on the his desk disappears overnight. It is money Greg had given him for payment for utilities.

Robert pruchases a home surveillance camera. Installed in the small artificial christmas tree for one week Robert captures clouds and himself on camera. And then it happens, Greg holding a cup of coffee rummages throguh Robert's room and desk. Perplexed by the locked bedroom door he tries to enter.

Amelia again accepted the porposal of marriage and Robert began to relax from the event. The insurance returned two thirds of the cost of the ring.
